Raider Regiment
The Raider Regiment is composed of all Marching Band and Color Guard students. These students compete throughout Southern California in two disciplines. The first is “Parade” in which the Band and Color Guard march down the street in a block formation. The second is “Field” in which the performers participate in a half-time type show. The Raider Regiment also performs at all Sonora Football Games.

Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band meets from mid-November through mid-June. Students perform concerts at a variety of on- and off-campus venues and participate in Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) festivals, where they receive an adjudicated rating.
Color Guard / Winter Guard
The Sonora Winter Guard competes in the Winter Guard Association of Southern California and is also part of the Raider Regiment. Members perform choreographed routines using flags, rifles, and sabres across a variety of performance spaces, including gym floors, streets, and football fields.

Winter Percussion
The Sonora Winter Drumline is a competitive ensemble that performs in high school gyms through the American Drum Line Association and WGASC circuits. Their shows feature music written for both the battery (marching percussion) and pit (mallet and auxiliary percussion). The ensemble is open to students from the band program as well as the school at large.
Jazz Band
The Jazz band meets after school starting in November and plays at various events and concerts throughout the second semester.
String Orchestra
String Orchestra meets during the school day to learn the orchestral string instruments (Violin, Viola, Cell, and Bass). They perform at concerts and festivals both on and off campus.
